ONE man was seriously injured and four others hurt when two cars collided on Island Road at Sturry, near Canterbury.
After being removed from his Hyundai saloon car by fire crews the driver was flown by Kent Air Ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital suffering from a leg injury.
A male passenger of the Hyundai suffered a cut chin and pain in the right knee and a female driver of the second car, a Mercedes, fractured her right leg. Both were taken by ambulance to the same hospital.
Two children travelling in the Mercedes suffered non-serious facial injuries.
The accident happened at about 1.40pm on Monday. A third car also struck the other two but the driver was unhurt.
Police officers closed the road for about three hours.
