Five people have been rescued from a house fire in Margate early this morning.

The blaze broke out on the ground floor of the property in Ethelbert Road at around 1am.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said 20 firefighters were needed to bring the flames under control.

Two people were taken to hospital after breathing in smoke.
