Flood alerts are in force across the county with residents and motorists being advised there may be disruption.
Those in Sittingbourne, Faversham, Isle of Sheppey, Dover and Dymchurch are among the areas affected.
The Met Office and Environment Agency have issued a number of warnings as a precaution.
They recommend keeping an eye on local water levels and weather conditions, as well as signing up to text/email alerts.
It goes on to say: “Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.
“Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.”
The Environment Agency also says residents should remind themselves how to turn off their gas, electricity and water mains supplies.
Getting a bag ready with “vital items like insurance documents and medications” is advised, if it is necessary to evacuate.
The alerts are as a result of thundery showers overnight, causing areas to flood from surface water this morning.
“Further localised flooding is possible but not expected later on Friday across parts of the South East of England and East Anglia due to heavy rain and heavy showers,” the Met Office explained.
“Land, roads and some properties may flood and there may be travel disruption.”
