X Factor finalist Ben Mills will open Minster’s 122nd annual flower show on Saturday at 2pm.

A baby show, children’s races, fair princesses and beautiful blooms will all be part of the fun at the family event.

It will take place on the recreation ground where the show tent will be open from 1pm to 5pm. The parade will arrive at 2pm.

Other attractions will include stalls, sideshows, a funfair, and dancing by Minster Mayhems. There will also be a photo dog show.

Local charities and organisations will be represented.

Tickets for the evening ceilidh are £5 and available from newsagents Attwells in the High Street.

Admission is £3 for adults and £1.50 for children. Concessions are £2.
