Jane Andrews - the convicted murderer on the run from East Sutton Park open prison - was only moved to the jail six days ago.
That was the revelation on Tuesday after the 42-year-old former aide to the Duchess of York failed to return to the prison near Maidstone on Sunday night.
A police spokesman said Andrews was moved to East Sutton Park on November 18 after being transferred from closed prison to open prison Askham Grange in York in July following a risk assessment by the parole board.

KM Group reporter Katie Lamborn, speaking from a Kent Police press conference on Monday, said: "Police say they have nothing to suggest Jane Andrews is a danger to the public - but they are concerned for her welfare and want her back safe and well."
Assistant Chief Constable Andy Adams said: "We are working closely with the prison service to locate Ms Andrews. We have no information to suggest she is a threat to the general public, however we must be mindful that in 2000 she was convicted of murder."
A police spokesman added: "Ms Andrews is known to the London and Grimsby areas.
"She has a fair complexion and very long, straight brown hair. She is slim and was wearing a long-sleeved black and white striped top, black jeans and a black body warmer and black trainers when she disappeared."
Anyone who thinks they have seen Andrews is urged to contact police immediately on 01622 690690 or Missing People on 0500 700700.
