A planning application has been submitted to turn a restaurant into a family home.
Named after the famous detective, Sherlock’s in Aylesford High Street was once a popular eatery in the village.
Its owners want to change the use of the building from both a house and business, to “solely residential”.
The restaurant itself has been closed since the end of 2017.
Several people commented on a Facebook post about the application, with many saying they were sad to see it go.
One said: “What a shame they never reopened. It truly was a little gem!”
Another commented: “We loved Sherlock's...it hasn’t been open for years sadly. No other place like it.”
The application states that the owner and his wife have lived at the property as their sole residence since 1986 and they intend to continue to do so.
It also mentions that they have no intentions to change the outside appearance of the building, which is not Listed.
Plans were submitted to Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council on Wednesday, April 12.
It is yet to be approved and is currently awaiting a decision.
