Former BBC Southeast Today presenter Geoff Clark is taking his one-time employers to an industrial tribunal, the KM Group has learned.
The presenter, who was also once the face of rival broadcaster Meridian, left the BBC regional news programme in acrimonious circumstances alongside fellow presenter Beverley Thompson at the end of September.
The pair had presented the flagship evening news programme for several years, with reportedly good ratings.
After they were dumped, upset viewers flooded the message boards on this website, although there were some who backed their replacements Rob Smith and Polly Evans.
It is believed that Clark has a conciliation meeting with the BBC on April 19 to try and avoid moving on to the tribunal, slated for April 29.
Sources have told the KM that the presenter has had some shifts on BBC News 24, but nothing else since the end of his time on Southeast Today.
