Kent’s new head coach Jimmy Adams arrived at the St Lawrence Ground last week and says he is looking forward to moulding the future of the club.
The former West Indies captain, who succeeds Paul Farbrace, has been working with the players during pre-season training at Canterbury ahead of a 10-day warm weather camp in Antigua on March 7.
He said: "I’ve been speaking with Simon (Willis) over the phone and doing a lot of research from home, but it’s great to finally be here. I am excited about getting going and look forward to being part of the process which will help to mould the future of the club. I will take my time to make sure the foundations are right, but my primary focus is to be part of a process to make Kent Cricket strong; if I can do that I will be very happy."
Kent’s chief executive, Jamie Clifford, said: "I am very pleased that Jimmy has arrived safely. Getting the necessary paperwork is always a challenge, but I am delighted that it all went so smoothly. We wish him well as he gets settled at Kent."
