A tiny fox cub, believed to be just a few days old, was rescued by RSPCA inspectors after being found abandoned next to a busy road.

The cub was spotted next to Bearsted railway station in Bearsted, near Maidstone, by a member of the public yesterday .

He was taken to Newnham Court veterinary surgery, and then to the RSPCA animal centre in Castle Way, Leybourne, where staff “fell in love” with him.

He has since been taken to a wildlife centre in the county where he will be hand reared until he can be released back into the wild in the area where he was found.
