Anyone will be able to travel on the buses anywhere in Kent completely free over one weekend this month.
The free bus travel across Kent and Medway has been organised by KCC with the support of the county’s 15 bus companies and paid for with funding from the Government.
Buses will be free over the weekend of June 24 and 25.
It is the same dates as Kent’s Big Weekend with special offers at 72 tourist attractions across the county, organised by Visit Kent, making this the perfect way to take a family day out.
Any bus will be free before 8pm on both days.
It is hoped the initiative will get people used to travelling on the buses again following a decline in bus use since the pandemic.
KCC’s cabinet member for highways and transport, Cllr David Brazier said: “This is one of a number of initiatives that we hope can improve our bus network and encourage greater bus use helping to make services sustainable in the future.”
