Drivers are facing tricky journeys to work this morning with patches of freezing fog forming across Kent.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning and warned visibility will be severely reduced in today's rush hour.
It said the freezing fog would form across the south east, with the problem hitting an ever wider area on Tuesday.
A spokesman added: "As the cold air mass across much of the south of England moistens up, there will be a much greater risk of fog.
"Areas of cloud trying to advance from the west will add to the uncertainty."
The AA has reiterated the call for drivers to take extra care.
A spokesman said: 'Stopping distances can be 10 times greater in icy conditions, so keep your speed down and leave plenty of extra space behind the car in front.
"Avoid harsh acceleration, braking or cornering – gentle manoeuvres are key.
"If it’s foggy, use your fog lights if you need to – don’t rely on automatic lights, as they may not come on in fog – but remember to turn them off once visibility improves."
