Forensic artists have released a picture of a missing man on the 10th anniversary of his disappearance.

James Moodie worked at Horticultural Research International (HRI) in East Malling when he vanished 10 years ago this week.

Despite repeated attempts to find Mr Moodie, who was 30 at the time, his family have not seen or heard from him since he walked out of their home in Faversham just after Sunday lunch on May 17, 1998.

His mother Doris says she thinks of her son every day and will never give up hope of hearing from him.

She also has some important news to pass to him.

She said: “I miss him terribly. His room is exactly the same as when he left it. Every day without news of him is a day of grief for me.”

His job at HRI, now renamed East Malling Research, involved agricultural duties and he was known as a pleasant member of staff.

A spokesman for Missing People said: “It is possible that James has done casual work on farms since he left his home. He had booked a holiday to Holland before he went missing but never collected his tickets.”

James, known as Jim, is 6ft tall, of slim build, with short dark brown hair and blue eyes. He often wore a gold hoop in his left ear.
