A fundraising concert is taking place today for a four-year-old girl who suffered serious injuries in an accident at a theme park.

Jessica Blake fell about 14ft from a bridge in the queue for the Tomb Blaster Ride at Chessington World of Adventures last month.

The Halfway Houses Primary School pupil, nicknamed JC for her first and second names Jessica Claire, was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

Jessica, from Halfway, suffered a fractured skull, a bleed on the brain and broken ribs, but is now conscious and talking.

The fundraising event is at the Royal Clarendon Hotel, in West Street, Gravesend. The show, which features bands including The Britpop Collective, Dakota and Rumblefish, starts at 3pm.

There will be an auction and raffle. Admission costs £5 on the door.

Jessica’s great aunt Tina Taylor is organising the Jamming for Jessica concert, in aid of any rehabilitation the youngster is likely to need.

An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive into the circumstances that led to Jessica’s fall is ongoing.
