The funeral of a Canterbury Christ Church student who died in a head-on collision near Chartham took place on Thursday.

Student William Wise, 20, from Park Farm, Ashford, died on the night of Friday, April 8 along with 25-year-old Esohe Omoregie of Church Street, St Paul's Canterbury, who was a doctor at the William Harvey Hospital.

The two died after their cars collided on the Canterbury Road.

William is believed to have been driving back from Canterbury when his Renault Clio collided with the doctor’s VW Polo at about 10.30pm.

William’s funeral took place at St Mary’s in Great Chart at 2pm.

Writing on Twitter, Esohe’s cousin Stephanie Olize said: “Words cannot describe my sadness.

"We will miss you beyond words. Love well and hard, tomorrow is not guaranteed.”

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and anyone with information or who witnessed the collision should contact crash investigation officers on 01622 690 690.
