A game of hats ended in tears when one little boy got a potty trapped around his neck.
Two-year-old Mason Mayhew was playing with his sister Mia, seven, in the living room of the family home when a chair with a removal potty in the middle was placed upside down on his head.
Their fun soon came to an end when it slipped down over his ears and became lodged around his neck.
Mum Natasha was in the same room sitting at the computer when Mia shouted across that Mason's head was stuck.
The 28-year-old, of Stanhope Avenue, Sittingbourne, said: "Mason has cerebral palsy and I couldn't get him to keep still because he doesn't understand.
"He was getting more and more distressed and he was crying so much.
"I tried to get it off but it was either getting caught on his nose or we couldn't get it past his ears.
"We'd only bought the potty the weekend before so we could start potty training him and it hadn't actually been used.
"I sent Mia to our neighbours either side of our house but they weren't in. I even rang my husband James at work and my dad.
"They suggested using creams but I couldn't let the potty go and I couldn't pick Mason up so I dialled 999.
"When the operator asked me what service I wanted I said I really didn't know as my son had a potty stuck around his neck."
Paramedics used a gel to try and slip the potty over the tot's head but when that didn't work Sittingbourne firefighters were called to the house.
Mrs Mayhew said: "When they walked in they had a bit of chuckle then they got a tool which looked a bit like large scissors and cut the front section of the potty so we could free him."
