Gang attack victim punched, stamped on and kicked

A YOUNG man required hospital treatment after being set upon by a group of teenagers on a Kent playing field.

The attack has been described as "totally unprovoked and nasty" by police.

The 19-year-old victim was cutting across the park area towards Tesco in New Hythe Lane, Larkfield, when he was surrounded by the gang, who asked him for cigarettes.

He was then punched, pushed to the ground, stamped on and kicked by the teenagers. He later found that £10 had been taken from his wallet.

Two of the gang are described as white and aged between 16 and 17.

One was wearing a white, flat-peaked cap, a striped polo shirt and jeans. The other was bare-chested, wearing a baseball cap and blue tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with information about the attack, which took place between 9pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday, June 12, is asked to contact police on 01732 379217 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
