Gary Mulligan was on target as Gillingham Reserves drew 1-1 with Millwall on Tuesday afternoon at the London club’s Calmont Road training ground.
The Lions had to play two-thirds of the match with just ten men after striker Ashley Grimes was sent-off following an altercation with Gillingham midfielder Charlie Howard.
Howard was one of five first team players making an appearance with defender Rene Steer, midfielders Nicky Southall, Howard and Albert Jarrett and striker Mulligan (pictured right) starting the game.
Also included in the Gillingham team was young Wolves defender Fungandel Moke, Crystal Palace apprentice keeper Kieron Thorp and Blackpool striker Jake Hobbs, who was making a second appearance for the reserves.
Millwall took a 22nd minute lead through John Marquis but the Gills levelled ten minutes later through Mulligan.
Gills: Thorp, Bartrum, Steer, Southall, Wybraniec, Moke, Burchell, Howard, Mulligan, Hobbs, Jarrett. Subs: Arnold-Smith, Sargeant, Geering, Murphy, Quinn.
