Police at the house where Annette Sturt's body was found
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his mother as it is revealed she was strangled to death.
Gary Sturt, 30, of Clarendon Street, Dover, was remanded in custody accused of killing 49-year-old Annette Sturt.
Ms Sturt's body was found at her house in Guston, near Dover, on Sunday.
Police were called to the terraced property, in Prescott Close, at 10.15pm.
Gary Sturt was arrested on Sunday night and later charged with murder.
He appeared before magistrates in Canterbury this morning and was remanded in custody.
Sturt is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, June 6.
