Peppa Pig has a lot of pulling power when it comes to little people.
To date, 183 episodes of the animated series have been made since the programme began in 2004, showing on Channel 5 and Nick Jnr. In 2010, Peppa merchandise racked up £200 million in UK sales alone.
The theme park Peppa Pig World opened at Paultons Park, New Forest, in April last year and the show is now broadcast in 180 countries. Consequently, Peppa is a very popular little pig and she will visit Kent Life for a third time to meet her fans this weekend.
For the first time she is bringing her brother George and will be wandering around at timed intervals.
General manager Emily Hirons said: “There is always a buzz of excitement when Peppa comes to visit, and with George also popping along to join in the fun guests are treated to a double helping. It truly is a fantastic event and an opportunity for children to see their favourite TV characters.”
Fans of the whole of Peppa’s family can see them in a new stage show arriving in the county later in the week.
Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt sees Peppa, George and Danny Dog up to fun and games on a day out on Grandad Dog’s boat. Children can help them follow the clues to find the treasure with Pedro Pony, Polly Parrot and Zoe Zebra.
This is Peppa’s second theatre tour, the first running for more than 650 performances across 90 UK venues.
It grossed £5.4 million in sales and averaged 80% capacity.
