Music fans are invited to rock around the dock throughout next week at one of the top shows in the county.
From Tuesday, August 11, the Rock On The Dock festival will feature a range of musical styles from performers in a marquee in the splendid setting of Ramsgate marina.
The event begins in style with local band the Juicy Lucy Experience with their blend of blues and rock.
On Wednesday, August 12, it is the turn of soul/funk masters EK1 who have been getting audiences on their feet for nearly a quarter of a century.
On Thursday evening top reggae band Legend will present their tribute act to Bob Marley and will feature many of his top songs including No Woman No Cry, Is This Love, Wait In Vain and I Shot The Sheriff.
On Friday night the mood changes again with top Irish ceilidh specialists Banish Misfortune promising to get the audience up and jumping with their lively show.
The final night of the extravaganza sees the stage set for The Counterfeit Stones, who are regarded as one of the world's top Rolling Stones tribute acts. They celebrate what many regard as the Stones' golden era from the mid 1960s to the early 1970s. The show will be introduced by kmfm for Thanet breakfast show presenter Johnny Lewis.
He said: "The whole Rock On The Dock programme is packed with a real range of music and there should be something to suit all tastes. I am really looking forward to the week, and in particular hosting the show for the Counterfeit Stones, who not only sound a lot like the Stones, they look like them up there on stage too. It should be a great way to end an excellent week of music."
The music starts from 8pm each night. For tickets contact 01843 587788.
