Adebayo Akinfenwa tries his luck against Shrewsbury Picture: Barry Goodwin
Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler was critical of his side's finishing at Shrewsbury after firing blanks.
It was Hessenthaler's only disappointment on anotherwise impressive showing from his team, as they more than matched third placed Shrewsbury, and nearly nicked a last minute winner.
Hessenthaler believed Shrewsbury defender Ian Sharps was "quite clever" in earning a red card by pulling Cody Mcdonald back when clean through. It denied Gillingham a great chance of scoring a winner.
The Gills boss is now targetting an unbeaten end to the season, starting at Aldershot on Tuesday night.
