Manager Andy Hessenthaler leapt to the defence of Gillingham midfielder Curtis Weston after this challenge on Rotherham keeper Andy Warrington on Tuesday.
Weston was cautioned after lunging in on Warrington, who had to be substituted with blood coming from his head. The incident led to a heated exchange between Hessenthaler and Millers boss Ronnie Moore on the touchline.
Moore said: "He was fortunate to only get a yellow – you are telling me that wasn’t malicious?"
But Hessenthaler retorted: "Curtis made a mistake. He didn’t mean to catch him. He’s apologised and I apologised to the keeper at the end."Picture: Barry Goodwin
