Gillingham skipper Barry Fuller is expected to be fit for the trip to Stockport on Saturday after playing through the pain barrier at Wycombe.
Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler revealed the right-back (pictured) had suffered an injury in the warm-up ahead of Monday's 1-0 defeat at Adams Park, but had battled on through the 90 minutes.
Hessenthaler said: "Barry slipped and felt his groin in the warm-up and he felt it all through the game. It was a risk (to play him) and we’ll have to look after him this week and see how he goes."
He added: "He got through the game and now we’ll assess his groin in the next couple of days, but hopefully he’ll be okay for the weekend."
If Fuller is ruled-out of the trip to Edgeley Park, Hessenthaler admitted: "That would be a problem as we don’t really have an out-right right-back."
He added: "What we could do is put Matt Lawrence there and bring Simon King in as centre half.
"The only thing is that Barry has been doing really well of late getting forward, but if Matty went there he might not be able to do that."
