Mark Stimson says there will never be a better time to break the Gills away day duck as they bid to climb out of the League 1 drop-zone at the first attempt at Yeovil on Saturday.

Stimson has vowed to go on the offensive at Huish Park and has not ruled out making further changes.

He said: "Roll on Saturday, bring it on. Hopefully, we’ll bump into a team that’s not playing that well and hopefully have that bit of Lady Luck. We’re not firing on all cylinders but we’ll be going for a positive formation. We’ve got a lot more than them but it’s producing it on the day."

Stimson said he was confident the Gills fans would keep faith with his struggling side, adding: "It is a long way to travel but the supporters will be there in numbers and they will get behind the team at the beginning.

"It’s up to us to get them to stay with us and produce. Since I’ve been here the fans have been amazing. I hope we get out of that bottom four for them."

Stimson said he was confident striker Rene Howe, pictured, would return against Yeovil, saying: "If he’s fit he starts."

A surprise possible inclusion could be defender Garry Richards. Stimson said: "Garry hasn’t played for a long while but he’s trained a couple of days this week. Whether Saturday’s too soon, we’ll see."
