Simon King could be heading to the Middle East to receive specialist treatment for his troublesome ankle injury.

The Gills defender, pictured, missed the whole of last season through injury and chairman Paul Scally is keen for the 27-year-old to attend Dubai’s Repton School where he can be examined by some top Middle East physicians.

Mr Scally said: "It’s a top school, with top facilities and it helps that the headmaster is a Gillingham fan.

"We need to spend some quality one-to-one time with him with the best possible facilities to try and get him back."

The Repton School, based in the Nad Al Sheba area of Dubai, is working towards being one of the top sporting venues in the region.

New manager Andy Hessenthaler has already met with doctors and physiotherapists at the school and King could fly out as early as Tuesday.
