A massive game is how Gillingham boss Mark Stimson has described the League 1 meeting with Southend on Easter Monday.

Both teams are in the relegation zone and desperate for points as the season reaches its climax.

The defeat 1-0 at fellow-strugglers Oldham on Saturday means anything other than a victory would leave the Gills in an extremely worrying predicament.

Stimson (pictured) said: "It’s a massive game, isn’t it? We’ve had two games against them this year, we lost one and won the other. We just have to make sure we turn up, and for 90 minutes.

"We need to keep focus and keep concentrating."

Simeon Jackson could return, while captain Barry Fuller will also be itching to play, having been left on the bench at Oldham.

The Gills will be boosted by the return of in-form forward Dennis Oli from suspension.

On 17-goal Jackson, Stimson added: "Whether he starts we’ll see, but hopefully he will be involved."
