Gillingham need maximum points to maintain their push for promotion from League 2, and our panel are convinced they will gett hem against Barnet at Priestfield on Saturday.

KEITH PESTELL

(Gillingham)

"With Barnet struggling against the drop, it’s not going to be a walkover.

"I expect Barnet to be like the other sides at the bottom of the league who have come to Priestfield and put most of their men behind the ball, meaning we have to break them down and they try to catch us on the break or from a set piece.

"We need to play like we did in the closing stages against Morecambe for the majority of the game and keep the pressure on.

"We need three points to stay in the play-off positions and with the game being at home, we should be collecting all three."

Prediction: Gills 2 Barnet 0

PAUL BLAKELEY

(Maidstone)

"So the match we were all looking forward to at the start of the season has rolled in, unfortunately Stimmo is no longer there so any added bite (and, indeed, easy three points - they’re away!) shall be lacking.

"Still, it’s vital the players put the frustrations of Morecambe behind them and come out positively. We have to win and preferably by a few goals.

"We need to be attack-minded and I’d start with Rooney – probably in place of Curtis Weston.

"Although his injury may explain his lethargic role on Saturday, he’s been off the pace more times than he’s on it recently.

"I’d also like to see Stefan Payne get some match time. I’m surprisingly confident - I think because we created a good number of chances against Morecambe. Just no silly handballs in the box please defenders."

Prediction: Gills 3 Barnet 0

MALCOLM SMITH

(Grimsby)

"The mixed messages coming from Priestfield, with Matt Lawrence stating automatic promotion won’t happen and Hess saying it still can, are causing me concern.

"We need everyone singing from the same song sheet right now if we are to achieve anything this season.

"Barnet are going to provide a different test to Hereford and Morecambe in that they need the three points and can’t afford to park the bus and hope for a point.

"That will give us a chance to exploit a shaky defence. The win-draw-win-draw run of results would suggest a win on Saturday and a draw at Rotherham but everyone knows two wins are what is needed. Then who knows?"

Prediction: Gills 3 Barnet 2

RICHARD PEPPER

(Manston)

"It has got to the stage now where the team are impossible to predict - you just do not know which Gillingham side you are going to get come out and play.

"Barnet are fighting for their lives and whilst we do not get to welcome our previous manager (Mark Stimson), after his departure from Underhill earlier in the season, we can expect a tough test.

"In Kabba and McLeod they have two strikers who can cause real problems, so our defence will have to be on their guard. It may just be time to use Mark Bentley as he always provides more width when playing on the wing, and has the never-say-die attitude we so desperately need.

"It would be great to see Cody get to 30 goals, but cannot see us signing him in the summer, with the club's current financial plight. I'm just grateful to have a club to support!”

Prediction: Gills 2 Barnet 1

CARL LEVINSON

(Barnet fan)

"We lost last time out at Bury but second half played okay so that defeat shouldn’t have knocked us too much.

"Before then we had been on a great run under Martin Allen but the least said about him the better.

"Graz is the man with the task of saving us now and who better to do it? His goals after all got us where we are now.

"I think we need two wins minimum for survival but I’m not sure we will get one on Saturday. Maybe a hard fought draw."

Prediction: Gills 2 Barnet 2
