Last week's surprise home defeat at the hands of Lincoln came as something of a shock to our jurors, but they all still think the Gills will come from Morecambe with something on Saturday.
Read what our Gills Jury members thing ahead of the game.

(Greenwich)
It might only be four games into the season but this weekend represents a massive test for both Hess and the players. There needs to be a reaction from last Saturday’s home defeat – and I’m confident there will be. As yet we haven’t seen a player really take command of a game and get the moves started in the midfield. Curtis Weston can be this player and we need him to return to the high standards he showed in the 2008/09 promotion season.
Prediction: Morecambe 1 Gills 1
ALEX SARSON
(Wellingborough)
The Lincoln game was a disappointment and although we shouldn’t forget it, we shouldn’t dwell on it. Our away form has to improve this year and the sooner we get some away form rolling the better. This weekend provides a tough game against a team who must be wanting to get the first win at their new stadium. If we are to come away with three points we can’t afford any mistakes or players not performing. If Cody McDonald can get on the field and link up well with Bayo, we could be on to something. A draw would be a good result.
Prediction: Morecambe 1 Gills 1
JASON COLMAN
(Gillingham)
One defeat in three games and everyone is hitting the panic buttons already. We have got a lot of players still out injured but it’s also good to see the likes of big Mac (McCammon), Bazza (Fuller), Jack (Payne) and hopefully Cody (McDonald) coming back. I think it’s going to be just as physical as Hereford but we will get that first away win for 15 months.
Prediction: Morecambe 0 Gills 2
PAUL BLAKELEY
(Maidstone)
After the horrible first half on Saturday, it’s hard to be amazingly optimistic. As long as we make sure we play it on the ground and make sure there’s movement from the midfield/strikers, we should be able to hold our own. I’d like to see Rooney given a go either in the hole behind Bayo or as an out-and-out striker.
Prediction: Morecambe 1 Gills 1
BEN CURTIS
(Brompton)
After the disappointment of last Saturday, two encouraging draws has turned into two points out of a possible nine and that’s going to make the Morecambe game very important. I hope we score early on and go out for the win. Playing away from an edgy Priestfield crowd for the next couple of games might just be ideal for the players.
Prediction: Morecambe 1 Gills2
JULIAN HART
(Canterbury)
After the Lincoln game, an away win is almost a must now. We can’t afford to drop the home form if we are still not getting anything away from home.
The 4-5-1 will probably be our starting formation and it’s a shame as with all the injuries, I think we still could make a decent 4-4-2 attacking squad. I hope Hess has learnt a few lessons tactically from the last game and sets this one up right for our first away win. It’s going to be a tough one as Morecambe are a good side.
Prediction: Morecambe 1 Gills 1
MALCOLM SMITH
(Grimsby)
Talk of ‘pressure’ from inside Priestfield really concerns me, especially this early in the season. Three games in and we’ve not set the division alight by any stretch, but why so much pressure?
Away from home we’ve not won in countless games and at home fans are beginning to boo already? This Saturday, hopefully the few of us that make the trip north (or west in my case!) will sing from beginning to end and cheer the team on to their first league win this season. The loss of Julian and inclusion of Cronin provides an unknown quantity but he seemed steady in pre-season and with a few days to prepare he should have enough time to get to know his defence.
Prediction: Morecambe 1 Gills 1
PETE BRUDENELL
I’m remaining confident for this weekend. I’ve been impressed with the introduction of Bayo and I feel that he will have a huge influence on our away form this year, with his ability to hold the ball up, bring other players in to the game and to simply stop the ball from immediately coming back at us.
Furthermore, although our squad is big enough and I don't feel it an adequate excuse for not having picked up more points thus far, I do feel that things will turn the corner with the likes of Barry Fuller, Jack Payne and Cody Macdonald all soon to return. Equally, I'm interested to see whether a fit Danny Jackman can push John Nutter for the left back spot.

(Morecambe fan)
We played well on Tuesday night against Burnley but in the end the class showed but for the first hour we were definitely in the game. The team is still settling down, having changed a lot of personnel and I would hope for a top half finish this season. The stand-out player so far has been Andy Fleming. The midfielder has scored twice in the Carling Cup and twice in the league and he could be a player that people will soon be after.
Prediction: Morecambe 1 Gills 0
