Last Saturday’s defeat at Rotherham was a big disappointment but let’s hope there is some sort of backlash this weekend.

Nobody wins every game unless you are Barcelona - and they are looking awesome by the way – as you will get ups and downs throughout the season and we just hope to have more ups than downs.

The three goals that went in last Saturday were too easy. We have to show if anyone scores against us they are good goals and well worked. We felt on Saturday they weren’t and we have addressed that this week.

We had control of the game in the first half but in the second half we didn’t get started.

We’ve been working hard this week as a management team to get to the bottom of it. We had to get them to send us a copy of the game in the post because the original copy they gave us on Saturday was blank which didn’t help! I think that summed the day up...

We have got to focus on the game ahead but we do need to have a look back because if we don’t do that we’re not doing our job properly.

It’s a pity we didn’t have a midweek game because the boys really wanted to put right the wrongs straight away.

Shrewsbury head to Priestfield on Saturday. They are a good team and one of the favourites to be up there this season.

They have made a lot of fresh new signings to give them impetus this season. They’ve got two quick wingers and Marvin Morgan is a handful up top while Terry Gornell was banging them in for Accrington last year.

They are a tidy team and it’s not going to be a case of just turning up.

Phil Parkinson takes charge of his first game at Bradford this weekend after the first managerial change in the division.

He has been around the scene a bit and being at Charlton he has been in the spotlight down here. He is young but experienced and likes to get the ball down and play. That can only benefit Bradford in the long run.

Out-going manager Peter Jackson will be back I am sure. He has had his ups and downs, previously battling against throat cancer, and we wish him all the best and hope to see him in an opposite dugout soon.

Bradford won their match at the weekend when Jackson left and one result can change everything, like we saw against Dover last season.

Once you get so low there is only one way you can go. We responded to it and when you have a run of bad losses like Bradford and the manager goes it was always going to be a case that one result could change their season.

I see an ex-player who was captain here, Micky Flynn, has scored a couple of good goals recently. With a good squad I am sure they will bounce back.
