Gavin Tomlin is determined to continue where he left off after returning to full training this week.
The lively forward made a blistering start to his Gills career, after arriving on loan from Dagenham, hitting six goals in nine appearances.
A hamstring injury halted his progress, meaning he has missed the last nine games but he is fit and ready to go again ahead of a must-win game at Oxford on Saturday.
Tomlin (pictured) said: "The plan is to get in there and score a couple of winners to help us get the points we need to get into the play-offs.
"I want to get back playing again and scoring goals. That’s what I enjoy doing. That is what is going to help me in my career to move on and to be a better player. Strikers get judged on their goal tally.
"I have enjoyed my time at Gillingham and I’ve been scoring goals and playing all right. I still feel I can do better and coming into a new team I have had to get to know the players and understand their game and improve on my game. I am just going to try and score some more goals, that’s all I can do."
Tomlin may have surprised a few with his Gills strike ratio after arriving from Dagenham in January without a goal to his name from 22 appearances.
But he promised goals on his arrival and he delivered. He said: "Sometimes certain teams suit you and I knew the way Gillingham play is more suited to the way I play."
