Gillingham will need to be back to their best if they are to lift the League 2 title in front of a sell-out Priestfield crowd this weekend.
Manager Martin Allen admitted his side weren’t 100% focused last weekend when they lost 1-0 at Cheltenham but they won’t be making the same mistake twice.
With two games to go, the Gills need just a point to become League 2 champions and Allen will be keen to get the job finished on Saturday when they face an AFC Wimbledon side battling against relegation.
Allen (pictured) said: "We can definitely play better than we did at Cheltenham. There was a definite feeling all around our whole group of players of ‘kind of job done’. Let’s not get away from it, there was that feeling about everything. The players were just a little bit disappointed on Saturday, as I was, that we didn’t hit the top form that we have got.
"We all agreed after that we would sharpen it up again during the week, ready for the action."
Allen and his staff spent the early part of the week sorting out business away from Saturday’s game, including tickets, the post-season trip away in Spain and an after-match function for the players’ partners and children.
It meant that from Thursday, they could solely focus on the match against AFC Wimbledon.
Allen said: "All those extras, away from football, have been done and it’s then been about concentrating on the game."
The League 2 trophy will be presented to the Gills on the pitch after the game at Priestfield if they are crowned champions.
