Andy Hessenthaler is aiming for a maximum haul in the coming week as he plots to wipeout two of Gillingham’s promotion rivals.
The Gills host Oxford at Priestfield on Saturday before welcoming Rotherham on Tuesday in another promotion six-pointer.
Manager Hessenthaler (pictured) said: "We’ve got two home games coming up and for me that’s maximum points. The players believe we can do that.
"We’re playing a team in Oxford who are around us and Rotherham will also be a tough game.
"It’s all in our hands at the moment and if we are going to be in the mix, it’s up to us in the next few games."
The Gills are one of many teams scrapping for a place in the promotion mix.
They are sitting eighth in League 2 but are just three points behind Rotherham, who occupy third place and the final automatic promotion slot.
Hessenthaler’s men have reason to be confident with just two defeats in their last 12 games.
"The fans can see we’re putting ourselves right in the mix at the moment," Hessenthaler said.
"We’ve got a lot of games against sides who are around us and there is a real belief that we can achieve something this year."
