Andy Hessenthaler has demanded his Gillingham team develop a ruthless streak after firing blanks in front of goal in recent games.
The Gills outplayed leaders Chesterfield on Tuesday but lost and were only able to take a point off Torquay on Saturday, after failing to capitalise on several chances.
Those missed opportunities leave the Gills on the verge of the play-off positions rather than battling for automatic promotion.
Hessenthaler said: "As a manager, we have to be critical with the goals we’ve given away and slightly critical of the amount of chances we’ve created and not taken.
"We need to work on that and hopefully come Saturday, if we create that amount of chances again and the keeper is not in such good form, then we can tuck a few away."
Gills are back in action on Saturday against in-form Aldershot at Priestfield and Andy Barcham (ankle) could return but Hessenthaler will need to keep a careful eye on Cody McDonald, as he picked up a slight groin injury on Tuesday night.
Dennis Oli is back in training but is unlikely to be risked.
