Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler has been named the nPower Manager of the Month for December.

Hessenthaler beat off competition from Northampton boss Ian Sampson, Gary Waddock of Wycombe Wanderers and Chris Wilder of Oxford United.

The judging panel included former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Sky Sports Football League expert Peter Beagrie, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, BBC Sport’s Mark Clemmit, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins and Football League Head of Communications John Nagle.
