Gillingham travel to Macclesfield on Saturday looking for their third straight away victory.

The team who were once incapable of winning away from home, going on an 18-month winless streak, are now seeking another three points after beating Oxford and Barnet on their travels in their last two League 2 matches.

Boss Andy Hessenthaler, pictured, hopes that winning mentality will see the Gills continue their upwards surge.

He said: "We want to make it three wins from three because it’s all about confidence, getting that momentum, a winning mentality and a winning run.

"The players’ confidence levels have gone up because we’ve won the last two games."

The Gills have received a blow in the build-up to the game with the news that joint leading scorer Chris Palmer will be out for up to three weeks with a knee injury.

On the plus side, the Gills could have both Simon King and Andy Barcham on the bench as they make their final stages of recovery from ankle injuries.

Central defender Tony Sinclair serves a one-match ban this weekend after accumulating five cautions and will be replaced by Josh Gowling.
