Gillingham will have nobody to blame but themselves if they are relegated from League 1 on Saturday.

The Gills have kept themselves just above the relegation zone in recent weeks and boss Mark Stimson, pictured, will be demanding one last performance when they travel to Wycombe.

Wins over Leeds and Southampton in recent weeks at Priestfield means that a draw will be enough to keep Gills in League 1 for another season. A defeat will leave them sweating on results elsewhere.

Stimson said: "We’ve got to do what we’ve been doing recently. The players have all performed and against Norwich we were unfortunate. Nobody under performed and we need that again.

"I’m sure the boys will be doing their utmost to do that. The key is that they want to be Division 1 players as much as the supporters want the club to be in this division.

"Everyone has the same goal and the players have to perform like they did against Leeds, Norwich up to a point and Southampton."

The Gills have yet to win away this season but Stimson is more concerned with the No.1 objective.

He said: "The most important thing is that we don’t get relegated. If we draw and stay up I don’t care about winning away. I don’t like it but I’ll get over that."
