Gillingham Mark Stimson was left with another injury to cope with following Saturday’s keenly-fought 0-0 pre-season friendly in Calais.
Dennis Oli, pictured, hobbled off with a knee injury in a game that saw the referee issue five yellow cards. The foul on Oli, however, went unpunished.
Stimson said: "It was a stern test and we’ve picked up another injury that doesn’t look too good. That’s a downside to the game.
"It was a poor tackle and the same player did one in the second half with Andy Barcham but thankfully he got up and played on.
"Looking at the positives though some of the boys played 90 minutes including Simon King, who played his first 90 minutes of pre-season so that was good.
"The boys also kept a clean sheet at the back and they were tested because Calais were a decent side.
"There weren’t many chances and they probably had better ones than us but they were from a distance and always safe for Simon Royce."
