Gillingham midfielder Adam Miller could play a key role for Mark Stimson's side in the season run-in

Adam Miller continued to cement his place back in the Gillingham team on Saturday and boss Mark Stimson was delighted to give the midfielder a platform to prove his critics wrong.

Miller’s career at the Gills looked over following his loan move to Dagenham in November but he could now become a key player in the club’s battle to avoid the drop after Stimson reinstated him.

Stimson said: "Someone like Adam (pictured) has it in him that he wants to prove people wrong. He likes that challenge.

"Adam is going to give absolutely everything and he won’t shy away from the football.

"He’ll make some good passes but then he’ll make some poor passes. He gets on the ball a hell of a lot and that’s going to happen.

"He is someone when I thought about going to Yeovil and you think about your next 10 games.

"As a manager who would you like to go to war with? Who would you want behind you? He is certainly that.

"I’ve known him for a while and I know what he is like. At the moment he is proving good but he knows he has to stay on the button.

"This isn’t it, this is just the start, his aim is to play the next 14 games and earn himself a contract here or somewhere else."

"He is one of the guys who I’ve worked with before and those who trust me and believe in me."
