Gillingham midfielder Curtis Weston is hoping the team can give their fans a much-needed tonic this weekend.

After last Saturday’s embarrassment at Accrington, the 24-year-old (pictured) knows the Gillingham supporters will demand a much-improved display when they take on Stockport at Priestfield.

Weston said: "When we go out on the pitch we’ll be thinking in the back of our minds that we want to give the fans some enjoyment and cheer.

"I was involved in the game against Stockport last time and it was a good day. Hopefully we can have another one like that.

"I’ve never been involved in a game like that at Accrington and that was just a one-off. To have scored four away from home for the second time this season and not win is frustrating."

Weston missed training at the start of the week with a thigh injury but he is confident of being available for selection again on Saturday.
