Gillingham players will be undergoing a fitness test tomorrow on Tuesday to assess their condition over the last three months.
Some of the younger players were tested at the end of last week and boss Martin Allen doesn’t expect any surprises.
"Generally we are all in good shape," he said. "Every week, every player has lost weight and come down in their body fat percentage. Every player since the day we started.
"Some have plateaued, which is absolutely fine, they have found their levels, while others keep doing it, they keep turning it in."
Allen (pictured) and his staff have been joining the players in keeping trim this season.
He said: "People say you have to have this American diet where you can only eat cabbage, or pea soup after 4pm. But it’s about the right-hand diet and what you put in your mouth.
"We all know that if you eat pizza and chips, pies and pasties, drink a lot of alcohol and eat takeaways late at night and you don’t do exercise then you are going to put on weight. It’s your right hand that puts it down your tunnel. Why put it down there if it’s fat and horrible?
"I have had to do the same. There has been a total commitment across the board."
