Gillingham have confirmed that they will face RUFC Calais this summer as part of a pre-season training camp.
The Gills, who return for pre-season training on July 1, will spend several days in the Le Touquet resort before heading to Calais for a second succesive season.
Last year Gillingham fought out a goalless draw at the Stade De L’Epopee against a sometimes over-physical Calais side.
Calais famously made it to the final of the French Cup in 2000 despite still playing fourth division football in the country. A rapid rise was followed by a similar demise but they are currently rebuilding and last season won the CF2 title - promoting them back to the fourth tier of football.
The Gills have now confirmed eight pre-season games.
The schedule is;
Friday, July 9 away v Braintree Town
Saturday, July 10 away v Bromley
Tuesday, July 13 away v Dartford
Saturday, July 17 away v Calais
Tuesday, July 20 home v Peterborough
Saturday, July 24 away v Dover
Thursday, July 29 home v Hearts
