Simeon Jackson looks to be on the verge of a move to Norwich
by Andrew Gidley
Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson is set to sign for Championship new boys Norwich City - and the deal could be sealed shortly.
The 23-year-old was pulled out of Gillingham’s pre-season friendly at Dartford on Tuesday lunchtime and said is rumoured to have said goodbye to his team-mates at Priestfield later.
Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler, speaking after the 2-1 win at Princes Park, said: “I believe it’s Norwich, but it’s still got to be confirmed and I don’t know anything about what the fee is.
"The chairman (Paul Scally) is in France at the moment and I have left things to him.”
Jackson was due to start against Dartford, having missed the opening two games at Braintree and Bromley.
But Hessenthaler added: “We pulled him out and are just waiting to see what happens. It looks like he is going to go, but until it’s been confirmed he is still our player.”
Hessenthaler would not confirm speculation former Darts striker Cody McDonald (pictured) is moving to Priestfield as part of the deal.
