Gillingham striker Cody McDonald has been named npower League 2 Player of the Month for January.
McDonald, who is on loan from Norwich City, scored six goals in seven games, including a hat-trick at Stockport County and two against Aldershot, during the month.
Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler said: “Cody has been phenomenal for us and, knowing him as I do, I’m sure that he would be the first to praise the team as a whole for his award.
“As an individual this award is a fantastic achievement and he thoroughly deserves all the accolades he is getting.
"Cody looks like he is going to score every time he goes out on the pitch at the moment."
He added: "It took him a little while to find his feet and he had a few injuries at the start of the season, but it’s all coming to fruition now and he is showing us what a quality striker he is.”
It was the second month in a row in which McDonald was nominated for the accolade.
npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: “Cody McDonald has been in fine form recently and fully deserves the npower League 2 Player of the Month Award.
“I’d like to congratulate Cody on behalf of npower, and wish him the best of luck for the rest of the season.”
