Gillingham striker Dennis Oli is hoping he can have an injury-free pre-season this summer.
Oli, pictured, struggled with injury during last year’s pre-season and he was only back for a short while before picking up another knock which kept him out for several months.
"Consistency is the main thing," he said. "Last year I was out for three and a half months and that broke it up. It was hard coming back in after basically missing pre-season.
"Coming towards the end of the season I got stronger and I thought I had a decent game at Wembley and I didn’t want last season to end. It finished on a high for me and hopefully I can continue it when the first game of the season comes around. I can’t wait to go."
Those injuries limited Oli to 36 appearances and he’s now hoping to impress so that he can get this campaign up and running from the first game against Swindon.
"I’m feeling fit and really good at the minute," he said. "We’ve been working on our fitness, touch and movement. It’s about getting all the rustiness out and getting the crisp touches in so that when it comes to the start of the season we’re sharper and ready to go.
"I think we’ll have a good run at it this season and we’ll be all right."
