Gills striker Luis Cumbers has declined an opportunity to spend the rest of the season with Blue Square Premier side AFC Wimbledon.

Cumbers, 21, (pictured) played four times for the Dons during an injury plagued time at Kingsmeadow. Manager Terry Brown was keen to extend the deal but the player has decided to return to Priestfield instead.

Brown said: "He has decided to stay at Gillingham and force his way back into their first team."

The forward netted once for Wimbledon in the 5-0 victory over Hayes & Yeading.

Earlier in the season he spent time on loan at Ebbsfleet and has yet to make an appearance for the Gills this season.

He signed a new one year deal with Gillingham in the summer and is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
