Simeon Jackson's recent woes from the penalty spot continued in Macedonia on Saturday.

Jackson, pictured, had a penalty saved for the Gills against Southend in the FA Cup last weekend and was again thwarted in a 3-0 defeat.

The Gillingham striker was making his seventh appearance for Canada as they faced the Macedonians in an international friendly at the Mladost Stadium in Strumica.

Canada were trailing 2-0 when Jackson stepped up to take the 70th-minute penalty but he couldn’t beat goalkeeper Tome Pacovski. It was Canada’s second penalty miss after Iain Hume had sent his earlier effort wide.

On Wednesday Canada face Poland and Jackson is again expected to be involved.
