Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson will be back in action on Saturday aiming for a place in the Gold Cup semi-finals.
The Canadian international will be hoping to play some part of the quarter-final clash against Honduras which takes place in Philadelphia.
Jackson (pictured) has so far featured in all three of the country’s group games and he started in their last match against Costa Rica which ended 2-2.
Should Canada qualify for the semi-finals they will meet the winners of the United States versus Panama game on Thursday, July 23.
Jackson was recently linked with a £1.5m move to Leicester but manager Mark Stimson denied any approach from the Championship side.
"We’ve had no phone calls, no enquiries," said Stimson. "Nobody has made an enquiry to me and I don’t think the chairman has had a call either. That’s pleasing because he is someone who, with the type of football we play, would be very vital to us because of the way he plays."
There has been constant speculation linking Jackson with a move away from the Gills and talk of big money transfers, but Stimson doesn’t expect the striker to take any notice.
Stimson said: "I would be surprised and amazed if it went to his head because the kid is a model pro. I don’t think it will faze him at all, if anything it will probably give him another pat on the back, as people recognise that he’s worth a lot of money and rightly so."
