Gillingham have been drawn at home to Barclays Premiership side Blackburn Rovers in the Carling Cup second round.

The tie will take place at Priestfield during week commencing August 24. A definite date and kick-off time will be announced soon.

The Gills set up the tie after defeating Plymouth in the first round 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Manager Mark Stimson was delighted with the news.

He said: "It it a fantastic draw. If you had said we were going to get into the next round of the cup and draw a Premier League side at home that would be great news.

"It has happened so full credit to the players for making it happen and I am sure when that game comes around the supporters will turn out in their numbers and make it a good atmosphere against a top Premier League side."
