Gillingham target John O'Flynn has been training with Bristol City, the Championship club confirmed this week.
O'Flynn has been training with City since July 1 and has gone on their tour of Sweden this week when he is expected to feature in three games.
Manager Steve Coppell told Bristol City's official website: "John's been around a little while. I've watched him at the same time I was looking at Kevin Doyle and Shane Long.
"He's a good finisher and has scored goals at Barnet consistently. This is an opportunity for him and it's nice to have people around the squad who are hungry. He wants a chance."
Irishman O'Flynn, who spent six years at Cork City, joined Barnet in 2008 and has scored 34 goals in 77 appearances. He has rejected the chance to stay at Underhill.
Gillingham's interest in the striker was first revealed at the end of June.
One player who will not be joining Gillingham is defender Darren Dennehy. The Irishman, 21, made 19 appearances for Gills on loan from Cardiff City under Mark Stimson last season and has decided to link up with the former Gills boss at Barnet.
