Gillingham's upturn in form will be put to the test on Tuesday when table-topping Chesterfield arrive at Priestfield.
The fixture, which was originally called off in December because of a frozen pitch, won’t faze the Gills, according to assistant manager Ian Hendon.
He said: "We know what’s coming and we’ve got a number of tests in the next few weeks.
"We have had Chesterfield watched and if the boys can go out and do what they’ve been doing then we are as good as anyone in this division."
Danny Spiller and Danny Jackman came through midweek injury scares to play at the weekend but neither lasted the 90 minutes at Torquay and there could be changes for the Gills.
Adebayo Akinfenwa (pictured) started from the bench as the Gills went with one man up-front again at Torquay but he could return at Priestfield to partner Cody McDonald.
"It might be a case that we go with two up or we may stay the same," Hendon said.
"Anything could happen but we’re not going to give too much away! There are people who are banging on the door and anyone who comes in now will have a part to play.
"The work now is to try and get three points against Chesterfield on Tuesday."
